We are super excited to welcome Alex Forster and Andrea Sampalmieri to the Old School Rooms to host a unique evening of live, improvised music to move the body and still the mind.
Alex Forster needs little introduction. His music creations and legendary live performances range from meditative soundscapes to uplifting, lyrical rhythms. Drawing inspiration from the sights and sounds he has gathered on his global journeys as well as decades exploring movement practices on the dance floor, Alex weaves together musical journeys like no one else.
As a multi-instrumentalist and master of live looping improvisation, Alex crafts bespoke soundscapes that invite participants to drop in, move freely, and be fully present. Whether performing in a forest, at a festival, or conscious dance space or workshop, his live sets are always transformative experiences.
For this special occasion, Alex will be joined by Andrea Sampalmieri, an exceptional percussionist travelling from Paris especially for the event. The duo’s past collaborations have been met with high praise and their chemistry and sensitivity as musicians bring a rare depth and spontaneity to the music.
Together, they’ll co-create a one-of-a-kind, fully live musical journey, guided by the energy of the room and the dancers within it. Expect a deeply immersive, heart-opening evening of rhythm, sound, and movement.
